POP! CRASH!

Those are 2 sounds that are not good by themselves let alone together. And they are even worse when they occur in the middle of the night! 1:19 AM...yes, I looked at the clock, I heard these sounds. the first POP sounded like someone or something had hit the wall in the living room that is on the back side of my closet. I got to the door and then the CRASH came. My closet shelf and rod holding all our hanging clothes and some storage items came down. I went back to bed.

Today my Dad, Mom and I went to Home Depot and picked up the supplies for the new shelf that my Dad designed. After a stop for lunch we returned home to begin the project. Ken assisted Dad in the construction and this is the final product!

Thank you, Dad! You are so awesome!

Memorial Day All Church Picnic!

Wow! What a beautiful day the Lord has made! We rejoiced and were glad together as we celebrated being a family! 60 were in service this morning! Praise the Lord!

Sasha had her first taste of watermelon! She loves it!
Softball proved to be a very fun time for both players and spectators!
Most were able to stay for lunch of hot dogs and other foods!
We praise the Lord for such a wonderful time of fellowship!

Family and Friends

My parents arrived Friday after spending time in Indiana with my nephew and his family. Dad pushed himself to get here so he could crash. And he has. He has been hit with a nasty cold that is really draining him. He spent all day today in his motorhome. We were very happy that he was able to join us for dinner, though!

Ken's brother Rod and his wife, Brenda, and their children Whitney and Trevor arrived at 2:30 AM today. They would have been here a little earlier if their directions had been given to them 100% correctly! (sorry guys!) We have enjoyed hanging with them. The kids have played a lost of softball and even had a water fight! Uncle Clancy, Rod, fixed Kenny's car doors that somehow had decided to all stop opening at the same time. (Thanks, man!)

This afternoon we gathered as a church body at Greenwood Falls State Forest for a baptism. MaryBeth publicly declared her devotion to Jesus and shared what He has done in her heart and life! It was so wonderful to share this time with her! 21 attended!

We are looking forward to tomorrow's service and the following picnic with everyone! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous! Pray that the bugs aren't too bad!

Morton's Neuroma

This is what I have in my left foot.

http://www.podiatrychannel.com/mortonneuroma/

I received a second injection yesterday. This one hurt way more than the first one! The Dr. said that she was able to actually go into the fiberous area which she said is a good thing. It wasn't that good as she went in!!!!

I have been instructed to not wear dress shoes at all for a while. This means that I can't wear dress shoes to church on Sundays. Does anyone know how to dress up sneakers?

Jesus Will Still Be There

Things change, plans fail and you look for love on a grander scale
Storms rise, hopes fade and you place your bets on another day
When the going gets tough, when the ride's too rough
When you're just not sure enough
Jesus will still be there
His love will never change
Sure as the steady rain
Jesus will still be there
When no one else is true
He'll still be loving you
When it looks like you've lost it all
And you haven't got a prayer
Jesus will still be there
Times flies, hearts turn a little bit wiser from lessons learned
But sometimes weakness wins and you lose your foothold once again
When the going gets tough, when the ride's too rough
When you're just not sure enough
Jesus will still be there
His love will never change
Sure as the steady rain
Jesus will still be there
When no one else is true
He'll still be loving you
When it looks like you've lost it all
And you haven't got a prayer
Jesus will still be there

Kenny's Infection

Ok, 2 weeks ago when we got home from vacation Kenny developed a bad infection in his right knee. He worked all day that Monday (5-1-06) and hurt terribly. After 3 trips to the ER for IV antibiotics he was sent home with oral meds and orders to stay on crutches and off his leg as much as possible. One week later he was cleared to return to work.

Now 5 days after his antibiotics ran out the infection has returned. During another trip to the ER for IV antibiotics the doctor discovered the culture report of the original infection. Of the list of antibiotics that would be available for treatment the infection would be resistant to only one. That is the one they gave him!

So now he's home for tomorrow, with new meds, and another trip to the ER tomorrow. Hopefully this will be the end of this nasty thing!

Here's a look at the knee tonight. The original infection was way more gross!

First Softball Injury

Cressalyn is part of the girl's modified softball team at Harrisville Central. Today at practice she was the recipient of a softball to the nose.

Actually the swelling doesn't look all that bad. I had flashbacks to "The Brady Bunch" and could picture Cressalyn reacting the way Marsha did! But she's a trooper. Coach said she can still play in tomorrow's game.

By the way, I'm REALLY gonna get it when she wakes up and realizes what I have done!!!
